[Case Study] Carbon Product "Watch Band"

Achieving a balance of flexibility and high strength! Introducing examples of watch bands made with carbon materials.

We would like to introduce a case study of the introduction of Mizuno Technics' carbon products. The "G-SHOCK" from Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has established a new concept of toughness in watches. Recognizing that the high strength characteristic of carbon aligns with the G-SHOCK concept, we received an inquiry for joint product development. Our company achieved improved durability against bending and pulling by shifting the carbon fiber weave by 45 degrees, and by combining carbon fiber fabric impregnated with thermoplastic resin and an outer layer of urethane resin, we realized a 125% increase in strength compared to conventional products, resulting in a tough structure that is resistant to breaking. This product is used in watch bands.
